Let me start by saying that I could watch food videos ALL DAY. I’ve spent many a waking moment on BuzzFeed’s Tasty Facebook page watching a mesmerizing food video on a tantalizing steak meal for two. Yeah, it’s 6:30am, but never too late to think about dinner. I love looking up food recipes so much that my personal Pinterest food and recipes board “Drool” has over 6,700 pins, and counting – no thanks to countless food bloggers on Pinterest and the daily uploads I catch on FB and Twitter by my faves Delish, Tastemade, Bon Appetit, and Tasting Table. It only made sense that I shared these delectable recipes on Drempt, as all creatives need brain food to fuel our days.
Which brings us to the first food post, perfect to start the new year on the right foot. January is the time for goal setting, resolutions, prioritizing action plans, and organizing our daily lives. It’s also the time we promise to watch what we eat, get ready for swimsuit season, and say we’ll go to the gym 4 times a week (even if we’ll settle for just 2).
For me, I started my New Year’s Resolution back in September on my one year anniversary in New York City. I bought myself an Apple Watch in the hopes to a) keep track of notifications when I wasn’t near my phone, b) be more active and use the Workout feature and Lose It app to track goals, and c) monitor exactly how much I move around in everyday life, so if I didn’t make it to the gym that day I knew I at least walked 5 miles that day and climbed 10 flights. Living in NYC has definitely made me walk more and climb more stairs than ever before when living in Miami, so, if moving daily is a give in, the only other thing to control is what I eat – which lucky for me is a favorite pastime.
Without further adieu, let’s kick off this Brain Food segment with 7 delicious recipes I’ve found online that I’ve either tried (like the Creamy Mushroom & Leek Chicken or Ropa Vieja) or can’t wait to make. Bone app the teeth!
